My 3120 ehydo is aproaching 50 hrs and I was looking at the services I need to do. I don't know if it's an oversight on Deere's part of if I'm missing something but the first Hydraulic oil and filter change isn't mentioned until 400 hrs.

Thanks Rudy

The 4000 Ten Series tractor manuals called for the trans oil and filters to be replaced at the 50 break-in service. Deere does not have the 3000 Twenty Series manuals online yet but they do have the 4000 Twenty Series manuals available online. I would venture that the 3000 Twenty Series manuals will be nearly identical to the 4000 Twenty Series with respect to timed services. Below is a link to the 4120 timed service intervals. I would still verify this in your 3120 manual and your dealer service dept. ....

Hi Lion, I looked at that link you gave me and it is just like my 3120 schedule, after beak-in 50 hrs change engine oil and filter and check wheel bolts. no mention of transmission oil and filter until 400 hrs.

Greetings

I do not really care what the manuals say about this issue. I would protect my signifigant investment after the initial break in period with filter and fluid even though fluid is not cheap. I will bet dollars to donuts that you will find metal shavings in the filter and be happy you took them out of the system instead of leaving them in there for 300 hours to eat your tranny and pump. Unless the metal shavings polish the innards. Not. Just my opinion.

Hi, I want to the dealer and offered my concerns with John Deere's recomendation of not changing filter or fluid until 400 hrs. He called Deere and spoke to their tech guy and was told that tests they have done indicated that early changes aren't necessary and that on future tractors they would be raising the interval to 600 hrs for the first change.

Go Figure, Rudy ....
